[Modul AR20083] Collecting, Documenting and Presenting Architecture: Exhibiting Post War Architecture – Building Projects in the Archive
with: Anja Schmidt, Regine Heß
The architectural collection of the TU Munich has retained a large body of building plans and photographic documentation of the reconstruction period in Germany. The question which always arises with these projects pertains to the goals of the executing architects: Did they want to rebuild as closely as possible to the historic original, or did they want to create a more contemporary substitute – reconstruction or new building? The Chair organized an international conference dealing with post war architecture in June, 22./23. 2017. An exhibition developed by the members of the block seminar accompanied the conference.
The following posters have been developed:
Emilie Andreassen: Wiederaufbau des Luisenplatzes – Darmstadt, 1946–1977
Julián Bustamante: Wettbewerb für die Neue Maxburg – München, 1952/1953
Leonardo Lella: Wiederaufbau der Alten Pinakothek – Hans Döllgast München, 1952–1957
Leonardo Lella: Wiederaufbau der Abteikirche St. Bonifaz – Hans Döllgast München, 1945–1950
Regina Schwarz: Neubau der Pfarrkirche St.Matthäus – Gustav Gsaenger München, 1953–1955
